Hello everyone,

This is my first ever post (cue the fireworks, sparklers and crackers!) and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to this blog. Here’s a heads up on what content I’m planning in the future.

For now I’m thinking of showcasing short stories, and possibly excerpts from current projects that I’m working on. The genres will be varied but most likely be set in fantastic worlds of science fiction or fantasy which I’m passionate about.

In addition I’ll also write up some reviews from books to films, and shows. My tastes can be quite diverse especially when it comes to the cinema. I can enjoy a foreign language film such as the French film The Intouchables (2011) equally as much as I would a Hollywood blockbuster like Die Hard (1988).

I enjoy reading graphic novels as well so I’ll be looking to review them too. My knowledge and fandom extends to popular superhero lore from either Marvel or DC universes.

If you haven’t worked it out yet, I am a bit of nerd which has come in handy during trivia contests where my team would turn to me for the answer. It is more likely than not that I’ve already jumped out of my seat yelling out the answer before they had a chance to confer with me. An example of this was when a question came up recently asking: King Ghidorah is one of Godzilla’s adversaries, what type of monster is it?

A three headed dragon of course! (In my head Homer Simpson was screaming, Nerd!)

This talent is a double edge sword though as it can lead to unintentional social comedic moments. I was setting up my password reset security question at a previous place of employment and based it on a comic book character. Unfortunately for me the day came when I did forget my password and I had to put a call in to admin. They asked me my security question which I had to answer it out loud whilst on the phone. The question was: Batman’s secret identity is?

Sigh…Bruce Wayne (giggling from work colleagues behind me).

Well, it’s time to roll up those proverbial sleeves and get down to creating content.

N.B. If the fireworks sparklers and crackers didn’t go off, then I must apologise for the inconvenience. I will personally take it up with the entertainment committee and get it sorted.
